Here are the facts as relating to the PPP
- Lagos later bought out the private sponsor (2014) to keep tolls affordable.
- On 1 January 2020, LCC initiated 100% cashless tolling on the bridge, accepting only e-tags, prepaid cards, contactless cards, and voucher.
- Motorists using e-tags also received a 10% discount, and LCC merged toll accounts for both plazas for convenience
- Toll collection on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge was suspended following the EndSARS protests in October 2020.
- After 18 months of dormancy, the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) announced plans to resume tolling on April 1, 2022.
- Subsequently, LCC officially postponed the resumption, stating it would delay toll collection to allow more time for motorists to register for the new e-tolling devices, an announcement by MD Yomi Omomuwasan promising a new date soon
